Investigators Meeting – San Diego, November 2019 – Osteoarthritis of the Knee Study

Last month, our clinical trial coordinator, Michael, and investigator, Dr Uli Liedvogel, jetted off to San Diego, California, USA, to attend an investigators meeting for a new osteoarthritis of the knee study that will be kicking off early 2020.

Mick and Dr Liedvogel met with other key clinical research professionals from two other Australian sites and U.S. sites, and the sponsor, on the night before the meeting to enjoy a buffet welcome dinner, sampling food from each culture of San Diego (U.S. BBQ, Mexican and Italian) – yum!

At the investigators meeting, they received training and discussed the upcoming study. Genesis is one of five Australian sites that will be involved in the study. Research professionals from forty-six U.S. sites also attended the meeting.

The trip was not complete without a little bit of sightseeing. The two were thrilled to catch the U.S. Navy Seals training in front of the famous Hotel del Coronado upon their arrival, and explored San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park before flying home.
